2 killed, 33 injured as bus overturns in HP

Mandi, Oct 22: Two people were killed and thirty-three injured, six of them seriously, after a private bus they were travelling in overturned in Mandi district of Himachal Pradesh last evening, police sources today said.

The accident occurred at Bijni, three km from here, while it was on its way to Padhar frome Mandi town, killing two people and injuring 33 others.

While one person, identified as Rajmal was killed on the spot, another, identified as Devanand, was killed while on way to PGI at Chandigarh where he had been referred to by the doctors of the Mandi Regional Hospital .

The sources said the injured people were undergoing treatment at the Regional Hospital here.

A case has been registered and investigations were on to ascertain the cause of the accident, they added.
