Two killed, one injured in road accident in HP

Shimla, Oct 21 (UNI) Two people were killed and another injured after a car skidded off the road and fell into a gorge in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh last night, police sources today said.

The accident occurred at Tawi, about five kms from here, on the Shimla-Bilaspur state highway at about 2200 hrs last night.

The sources said local people helped the police in pulling out the bodies from the mangled car, which was pulled up from the gorge by a crane.

The dead were identified as Med Ram and Sahi Ram Chauhan, both employees of the Indira Gandhi Medical College and Hospital (IGMC), who were killed on the spot, while the injured person was yet to be identified, the sources said.

The injured was admitted to the IGMC here where his condition was stated to be serious.

The sources said the cause of the accident was not yet known, adding that a case has been registered and investigations were on.
