President to be invited for Lamington school's centenary

Hubli, Oct 21 (UNI) President A P J Abdul Kalam will be invited to participate in the centenary celebrations of Lamington High School here in January or February 2007, Karnataka Primary and Secondary Education Minister Basavaraj S Horatti said today.

Addressing a press conference here yesterday, Mr Horatti, who had served in the school as physical education teacher for some years, said the school, run by the Hubli-Dharwad City Municipal Corporation (CMC), would be rejuvenated to its past glory when students competed with each other to get admission in the school. Now, only students who fail to get admission in other schools approach this school, he lamented.

He said the State Government and the CMC would spend Rs one crore to provide all infrastructure to the school.
