Pak lodges protest on India over detention of official

Islamabad, Oct 21: Pakistan has lodged a strong protest against India over the alleged illegal detention and manhandling of a driver of the Pakistan High Commission in New Delhi.

''The harassment of a Pakistani official is a violation of international conventions as well as the diplomatic norms,'' Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Tasneem Aslam said in a statement here today.

She said Mohammad Farooq a driver of Pakistan High Commission was detained and manhandled by Indian security personnel.
