Naxals kill headman

Jagdalpur, Oct 21 (UNI) Naxals have gunned down a village headman at Mahima Gawadi in Chhattisgarh's Bastar district and also indulged in arson, the police said.

Kali Ram was targeted last night after the rebels barged into his home. The victim's residence was damaged, his tractor and two wheeler torched.

Two ultras were neutralised in a police encounter this morning in this district's Korgaon forest.

''The bodies have been seized and two guns found on the scene.

Patrolling is continuing in the area,'' said Superintendent of Police G P Singh.
