Miscreants kill 7-year old, mother injured

Agartala, Oct 21 ( UNI) A seven-year-old child was killed and his mother seriously injured by miscreants at Kumarghat in Tripura's North District last night, police today said.

Seven armed persons entered the house of one Ranjit Malakar, a poor fisherman of Sonaimuri village, and attacked his wife.

They also killed his seven year old son when he tried to resist, police said.

Both of them were rushed to the nearby hospital where the doctors declared the child dead and said the woman's condition was critical.

However, the miscreants fled under the darkness when the neighbours raised an alarm, sources said.

District Superintendent of Police said though the reason behind the incident had not been asserted, some personal enmity is being suspected.

Meanwhile, the Panisagar police during raids on Thursday night recovered a country made gun and ammunition from Padmabill village and have arrested one in this connection, sources said.
