Jeev makes cut in Mallorca Classic, tied 44th after second round
Mallorca, Oct 21 (UNI) Jeev Milkha Singh struggled to come to terms with the testing, windy conditions but even a second round of five-over 75 was good enough to see the Indian make teh cut at tied 44th in the 1,750,000 euro Mallorca Classic here.
After rounds of 71 and 75, Jeev, the UBS Asian Order of Merit leader, now has a two-dayu total of six-over 146. Only four players finished their two rounds under par and the cut fell at eight over par 148, equalling the highest cut to par in European Tour event in 2006 outside the Majors.
Apart from the birdie on the 15th hole, there was hardly anything to cheer about for Jeev and the seasoned Indian dropped six bogeys -- on second, ninth, 12th, 13th, 14th and 17th -- in a forgettable round.
Swede Niclas Fasth and Irish Gary Murphy share the lead at three-under 137.
