HM Cdr among two militants killed in Doda

Jammu, Oct 21 (UNI) In a pre-dawn encounter, security forces today gunned down two militants, including a former SPO and a Hizbul Mujahideen's (HM) section commander, at Mislie forest area of the Doda district, official sources said.

''HM's section commander Shabir Ahmed Bhat alias Bilal and Mohmmad Imran alias Kamran were killed here at Mislie under Gandow police station,'' Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda, Manohar Singh told UNI.

One AK rifle, a magazine, two grenades and seven rounds were recovered from the site of encounter, he said.

Shabir Ahmed Bhat, who was a Special Police Officer (SPO), had deserted police in 2003 to join Hizb, the SSP informed.

The operation was still on, he added.
