Goa observes 55th Police Commemoration Day 687 cops remembered
Panaji, Oct 21 (UNI) Director General of Police B S Brar led Goa in paying rich tributes to the 687 police personnel who laid down their lives in discharging their duties as part of the 55th Police Commemoration Day today.
The day is being observed to remember the brave cops who were ambushed and killed at Ladakh border on this day in 1951.
Mr Brar laid wreaths at the police memorial on the precints of the police headquarters after inspecting a ceremonial parade commanded by inspector Gurudas Kadam.
The police paid tributes by reversing the arms (Shoke Shastra) and saluting the departed souls with their arms (Salami Shastra) postures in the parade.
