Duleep: South heading for win
Indore, Oct 21 (UNI) South Zone seemed en route to a straight victory at stumps on the third day of a Duleep Trophy encounter here after West, chasing a target of 419, lost three wickets for 60.
At the Usha Raje Cricket Ground, Anil Kumble, S Sreesanth and Robin Uthappa scalped a batsman each and West has to play a full fourth day and must score 359 more for a win. D Jadhav (28) was on the crease.
Earlier, South began adding to an overnight score of 65/2, played excellently and declared the innings at 307/9. Skipper V V S Laxman and S Badrinath added 99 for the fourth wicket after the team lost three batsmen for 67. Laxman contributed 50 while Badrinath made 65.
A T Rayudu also played a crucial innings of 50.
S Trivedi took five wickets while Zaheer Khan and R Pawar took two each for West Zone.
