Bangladesh does not give shelter to terroris: Mankin
Shillong, Oct 21 (UNI) Bangladesh's Awami League MP Pramode Mankin has denied the charges that Bangladesh is a sanctuary and launch pad for terrorist and militant organisations.
Mr Mankin's denial assumed significance in the backdrop of India's National Security Advisor M K Narayanan statement that India regarded Bangladesh as a sanctuary for militants operating against it.
''We are not sheltering any terrorists in our country nor do we support them,'' Mr Mankim told UNI here.
Mr Mankin, who is on a personal visit to India, said even his country is also facing the terror activities unleashed by Muslim fundamentalist oragnisations.
''You see, we also faced terror activities, violent Islamic groups had planted bombs and killed people,'' Mr Mankin said adding that these Muslim fundamentalist are being trained in Afghanistan.
''We have also acted against such terror activities which are against mankind,'' he asserted.
