Atwal improves, makes cut in Funai Classic
Florida, Oct 21 (UNI) Arjun Atwal came up with an improved round of three-under 69 and made the cut to keep alive hopes of retaining his next year's PGA Tour card at the 4.6 million dollar Funai Classic here.
The Orlando-based Indian is placed tied 62nd with a two-day total of five-under 139.
Meanwhile, Justin Rose continues to sizzle and after sizzling rounds of 60 and 67 the Englishman retained his four-shot lead over the field before darkness forced the organisers to suspend play.
Atwal had a flawless front nine, including a couple of birdies on the second and fourth but things threatened to go worse on his way back as he dropped bogeys on the 10th and 14th holes. Atwal, however, kept things under control and birdied the 13th, 16th and 17th to stay in contention.
