Army jawan runs amok, kills 3 colleagues, injures 2

Jammu, Oct 21 (UNI) An army jawan of signals regiment went berserk and opened indiscriminate fire killing three of his colleagues while injuring two others at Naria in Rajouri district here, official sources said.

''Running amok, a jawan shot dead three of his colleagues at 0450 hrs while two others received injuries in the incident,'' defence sources told UNI.

RHM R S B Chandrabhan, Havildar G Galliah and Clerk Nikhil Kumar were shot dead by signalman S K Rabha, while Signalmen A M Gagoi and Lal Dagar were wounded in the incident, sources said.

Rabha then, sources said, attempted suicide and was critically wounded.

An FIR has been lodged with the police and a court of inquiry has been ordered into the incident, sources said.

The wounded soldiers had been shifted to the army hospital, sources said.
