3 militants killed in north Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 21 (UNI) As many as three militants were killed by security forces in two encounters overnight in north Kashmir, a defence spokesman said.

The security forces, on a specific information, conducted a search operation at Kunzerwani in north Kashmir district of Baramulla last night.

The encounter ensued after the militants opened fire and hurled hand grenades on the security forces. In retaliation, they gunned down two militants, the spokesman said.

Two AK rifles and other arms and ammunition were recovered from the slain militants.

In another encounter, one militant was killed at Nagren Bagh in the same district.
