'Vasco da Gama Yacht Rally' to reach Kerala tomorrow

Kochi, Oct 20 (UNI) The 'Vasco da Gama Yacht Rally', which started from Turkey a few months ago, will arrive at the Bolghatty Island, here tomorrow, from Goa.

The sailing teams of the 16 boats participating in the rally will be received by Kerala Tourism Minister Kodiyeri Balakrishnan at the Bolghatty Palace Hotel.

Kerala Tourism Director B Suman said the 'Vasco da Gama Yacht Rally' was a tour from Turkey to India through the Red Sea.

Mr Suman said the sailors had arrived in Goa from Kenova in Turkey a few days ago. They would arrive here tomorrow for an overnight halt.

''The rally aims to make an international chain of friendship, understanding, dialogue and co-operation among yachtsmen and participating countries,'' he added.
