Two persons sentenced seven year's imprisonment

Sheikhpura, Oct 20 (UNI) A fast track court sentenced two persons to seven years' rigorous imprisonment for raping a childless woman.

The court has also slapped a fine of Rs 10,000.

The case record said Arjun Ram and Sanichar Ram of Beus village under Jayrampur police station area, who used to practice sorcery, had raped Nilam Devi on July 17, 2001.

Childless Nilam had asked for the sorcerers' help to get rid of evil spirit and secure fertility, sources said yesterday.

The duo taking advantage of the situation raped Nilam, first track court judge B K Mishra ruled.
