Total foreign reserves down by USD 324 mn to USD 164.951 bn
Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) The total forex reserves has declined by US dollar 324 million to USD 164.951 billion for the week ending October 13 as compared to USD 165.275 billion last week, according to Reserve Bank of India's weekly statistical report here.
The foreign currency assets for the same date have declined too by USD 205 million to USD 158.105 billion as compared to the previous week's figure of USD 158.310 billion.
Besides maintaining the best international practice India's reserve position in the International Monetary Fund (IMF) too, for the week ending October 13, declined by USD 119 million to USD 64.3 billion as compared to the previous week's figure of USD 64.4 billion.
The total bank credit as on September 29 was at Rs 16,54,734 crore, where the food credit was put at Rs 33,458 crore and the non- food credit was at Rs 16,21,276 crore.
Besides, the outstandings that accrued out of accommodation provided by the scheduled commercial banks to commercial sector in the form of bank credit and investment shares/debentures/bonds as on September 29 was at Rs 16,99,997 crore and the variation over the March 31 figure was at Rs 1,54,146 crore as compared to previous September 15 figure at Rs 1,03,579 crore.
Loans and advances given to the state governments as on October 14 were put at Rs 69 crore as compared to October 6 figure of Rs 477 crore.
