Three arrested for kidnapping, forcing minor girl into prostitution

Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) Police have arrested three women for allegedly kidnapping and forcing a minor girl into prostitution.

The three women - Prachi Kale (25), Durga Tupe (22) and Alka Jadhav (32), all residents of Lalubhai compound - were arrested yesterday on the basis of a complaint filed by the victim's mother.

The victim's mother in her complaint said the three had kidnapped her daughter on Wednesday and taken her to Gujarat and forced her into prostitution.

However, the minor girl was brought back to Mumbai by the accused and was rescued from Lalubhai compound at Govandi in North East Mumbai yesterday.

All the accused have been booked under Prevention of Immoral Trifficking Act (PITA). They will be produced in the Metropolitan Court later today, the police added.
