South take crucial 111-run lead over West in Duleep Trophy

Indore, Oct 20 (UNI) Anil Kumble claimed five wickets to help South Zone scuttle West Zone for 180 in the first innings to take a crucial lead of 111 runs on the second day of the Duleep Trophy encounter at the Usha Raje Cricket Ground here today.

Replying to a first innings total of 291, the West were bundled out at 180 for nine with Sairaj Bahutule retiring hurt. S Sreesanth claimed three wickets while L Balaji took one.

At stumps, South were 65 for two with captain V V S Laxman (12) and Y Venugopal Rao (26) at the crease. Zaheer Khan and S Trivedi took a wicket each for the West.
