School girl murdered; angry villagers block road
Kendrapada, Oct 20 (UNI) Hundreds of villagers and school students today blocked vehicular traffic on Garadapur-Patkura road near Naindipur school protesting against the murder of a girl and failure of police to nab the culprits.
Demanding immediate arrest of all killers, the irate mob damaged some police cars when senior policemen arrived at the spot to take stock of the situation.
District magistrate Kashinath Sahu and Kendrapara Superintendent of police Satrughana Parida had rushed to the spot to pacify the demonstrators.
Mr Sahu said he had requested the IGP to conduct an investigation into the murder case.
Rojalini Dash, student of class 10 in Naindipur High School under Patkura police station, was murdered and burnt by some unidentified miscreants on Monday.
Her father lodged an FIR with the Patkura police station alleging that one of his fellow villagers had committed the crime following a long standing land dispute.
The Police have detained three persons in connection with the incident.
