Rajasekhara Reddy launches 'Operation Dengue'
Hyderabad, Oct 20: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today launched 'Operation Dengue' war against mosquitos to control Dengue outbreak and other votor-borne diseases, including Chikungunya.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Reddy said the programme would be implemented throughout the state on ten succesive Fridays.
He said the government had chalked out a three year schedule to totally eliminate various seasonal diseases. It has instructed officials to identify the diseases that occur during summer, the monsoon and winter seasons and draw out plans to fight them.
Dr Reddy also interacted with students and locals and made them take an oath that they would keep their environment clean and free from mosquitoes.
Health Minister K Rosaiah, several other ministers MLAs and MPs also took part in the programme.
In Visakhapatnam, Medicos and students took out a massive rally to create awareness among people about keeping their surroundings clean and dry.
