Production of rail wheels, coaches exceed target

New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) All the public sector units of the Railway Ministry, including the Rail Wheel Factory (RWF) and the Integral Coach Factory (ICF), exceeded their production targets during the first six months of the current financial year.

The RWF produced 67,476 wheels and 27068 axles during April-September this year as compared to the target of 66,354 wheels and 26031 axles. Integral Coach Factory (ICF) produced 551 coaches against the target of 543 coaches.

Chitranjan Locomotive Works (CLW), Diesel Locomotive Works (DLW) and Rail Coach Factory (RCF) produced 63 electric locos, 92 locos and 640 coaches respectively equalling the target.

The ordinary working expenses during the same period came down to Rs. 19329.08 crore as compared to the budgetary provision of Rs.

19457.69 crore.

The punctuality percentage of mail and express trains during the period in Broad Gauge and Meter Gauge respectively was 92.4 and 97.5 as compared to 91.9 and 97.3 during the same period last year.
