Police Constable arrested for allegedly molesting a woman

Kolhapur, Oct 20 (UNI) A police constable was today arrested for allegedly molesting a young woman inside the premises of the Mahalaxmi temple here.

The constable has been identified as Ananda Kondiba Zhore (53). He was on duty in the temple premises, police said.

One Nashik-based woman, accompanied by some of her close relatives had come to the temple today when constable Zhore allegdly molested her. Responding to her screams, other devotees gathered on the spot, assaulted Zhore and then handed him over to the nearby Juna Rajwada police station, police said.

Though Zhore was later released on bail by the local court, he has been suspended by the district superintendent of police, Mr Sukhwinder Singh, they added.
