Nursery student appeals to stop bursting sound crackers
Kailashahar, Oct 20 (UNI) It is not only the Pollution Control Board which is trying to control noise and environment pollution, but a nursery student has also appealed to stop all kinds of crackers in Tripura.
Kunal Chowdhury(5), a nursery student of Kailashahar town's Srirampur locality in Tripura's North District Headquarters here, in a four line letter to the police sought their help to stop bursting sound crackers as he and his sister get frightened with powerful sound.
The copy of letter was sent to the local press also. The letter said '' police kaku, bajir sabde ami o banu bhoy pai, chamke uthi,'' tumi eta bondho koro Police uncle, my little sister and me are frightened of sound crackers.Please stop this and help us.'' After receiving this appeal, Officer-in-charge Satyendra Basu here said, '' We also want to stop this sound cracker but when police conducted raids in shops, they found only soundless crackers.
The state Pollution Control Board had banned bursting of sound crackers during Diwali. But it is not possible for the board and police alone to stop this menace, the officials added.
