Major tragedy averted, IED seized in Kashmir
Srinagar, Oct 20 (UNI) Security forces averted a major tragedy when they seized a milk container fitted with 4-kg Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in south Kashmir's Anantnag district today.
Police said a search operation was launched jointly by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the CRPF and the Army at general area of Kanjikulleha Yaripora in Kulgam area this afternoon.
During the operation, a person carrying a milk container was noticed moving suspiciously they added.
On search, police said the milk container was found to be fitted with the IED weighing about 4 kg.
The person, identified as Irshad Ahmed Wagay, of the same village was later detained by the security forces.
