Killers of policemen gunned down in Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 20 (UNI) The Jammu and Kashmir Police today said the two Al-Badr militants gunned down in the encounter at Shalimar today were involved in the recent killing of police personnel.

In a statement here, Inspector General of Police, Kashmir S M Sahai, who commanded the entire operation, said both the militants belonged to the Al-Badr militant outfit and were active in the area for the past several years.

The two were involved in the recent killing of policemen in the city, particularly in the Hazratbal area, he added.

Mr Sahai said one of the slain militants was identified as Imran Gul. There was no civilian or police casualty in the operation, the IGP said.
