Kerala HC moved for cancelling bail in FACT graft case
Kochi, Oct 20 (UNI) The Fertilisers and Chemicals Travancore (FACT) Employees Federation today moved the Kerala high court for cancellation of the bail granted to the accused in the Rs 78 crore ammonia transportation graft case.
Justice K R Udayabhanu admitted the petition and issued notices to the respondents.
FACT Employees Federation general secretary K R Sashidharan contended that the CBI court had granted bail to the accused without any conditions.
The CBI had last month arrested a senior serving and nine former officials of the FACT for allegedly causing a loss of Rs 78 crore to the company in the award of a contract to a Mumbai-based firm for transporting ammonia.
Among those arrested were DGM K P Balagopalan and S Sundaresh Shenoy, Executive Director (Marketing), who was dismissed in December 2005.
