Jeev tied 25th after opening round in Mallorca Classic
Mallorca, Oct 20 (UNI) Struggling with the gushing wind, Jeev Milkha Singh returned a card of one-over 71 to be tied 25th after the opening round of the Mallorca Classic at the Pula Golf Club here.
The UBS Asian Tour Order of Merit leader arrived here from Japan to take part in the European Tour event. He started cautiously, parring the first five holes before picking up a shot on the sixth -- eventually his only birdie of the day -- but dropped a shot on the ninth to complete his halfway journey without any gain.
On his way back, Jeev dropped another bogey on the 16th and then signed off with a couple of par shots to round off the day.
Niclas Fasth of Sweden, South African Andrew McLardy and Ireland's Gary Murphy share the top slot after identical rounds of four-under 66.
