Imam shot at in Rajbagh in Srinagar

Srinagar, Oct 20 (UNI) Unidentified gunmen shot at and wounded an Imam (a Muslim priest) in Raj Bagh area here early this morning, official sources said.

They said Mohammad Altaf Shah, a resident of Baramulla district in North Kashmir was shot at Sehri (food taken at dawn time during Ramzan) time. He was a priest at a mosque at Pathan Bagh in Raj Bagh area.

He was rushed to a hospital where his condition was stated to be critical.

The incident sparked off a massive protest by the local people.
