HP Bank Employees Federation to observe strike on Oct 27
Shimla, Oct 20 (UNI) The bank employees affiliated with the All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) will observe a day's strike on October 27 against the Centre's move to outsource jobs, merger and acquisition's of public sector banks besides implementation of compassionate appointment scheme.
The bank employees affiliated with the state unit of the AIBEA will strike work on October 27, in support of the demands, Association General Secretary C H Venkatachalam said in a release here.
He said the association was demanding the introduction of one more option for pension scheme and rejection of government directed scheme, implementation of the compassionate appointment scheme and capping outsourcing of jobs to contractors.
Besides, the association was also opposing the merger and acquisition of the public sector banks and dilution in the ceiling of voting rights as provided in the Banking Regulation Act, he said.
Mr Venkatachalam said all vacant posts in the banks should be filled through recruitment, while banning all outsourcing of jobs to contractors and other organisations.
