Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) The Bombay High Court today directed Maharashtra DGP P S Pasricha to examine documents submitted by the Criminal Investigation Department, alleging the involvement of 14 police officials in custodial death of Ghatkopar blast accused Khwaja Yunus.
A division bench comprising Justice J N Patel and Justice R S Dalvi were informed by Chief Public Prosecutor Satish Borulkar that the DGP had recieved respective chargesheet against the officers on August 25. It was not for obtaining his sanction and the chargesheet had a letter enclosed with it. The DGP, therefore forwarded the documents to the legal department where it remained pending till date, he explained.
The court then directed Dr Pasricha to study the respective documents and if satisfied with the probe, grant his sanction for filing chargesheet against the officers concerned within four weeks.
