Hamas suggests will block any emergency government
GAZA, Oct 20 (Reuters) Palestinian Prime Minister Ismail Haniyeh today suggested his Hamas movement would use its absolute majority in parliament to block the appointment of any emergency government.
President Mahmoud Abbas has hinted he might sack the Hamas government after efforts to form a unity cabinet foundered over the Islamist movement's refusal to soften its stance toward Israel.
''Even if the prime minister and the government were sacked, no government that will be formed will have the confidence of parliament without ... the change and reform block,'' Haniyeh, referring to the Hamas parliamentary faction, told worshippers at a mosque in Gaza.
