Great Indian Road Trip riders arrive in Pune

Pune, Oct 20 (UNI) A group of five motorcycle riders, on a nationwide 20,000 km road trip, arrived in Pune late this afternoon after covering 8,300 kilometres.

The bikers are part of ''The Great Indian Road Trip'' and entered Pune on the second leg of their journey across the country.

The bikers rode straight to the Sinhagad Fort to commemorate the milestone of completing 8300 km of their trip. Spread over 110 days, 26 states and with five bikes, The Great Indian Road Trip, has been conceived by the country's largest pan-India biking community, ''xBhp.com'', backed by its principal sponsor Castrol Power1. The Trip was flagged off from Delhi on August 15.

The five riders include Sundeep Gujjar from Delhi, Bunny Punia from Pune, Ashish Divakaran from Hyderabad, Sunil Gupta from Ghaziabad, and Krishnananda Ken from Kolkata. A sixth rider, Gurpreet Singh from Delhi, had to return back to Delhi after being afflicted with Kidney stone problem after reaching Mumbai yestarday.

''So far, we have had a problem-free ride and hope to complete the ardous mission as per the scheduled programme. The riders have a four wheeler support vehicle and a mechanic with the necessary spares,'' Sandeep, the team leader, told UNI.

The road trip has been undertaken on Kinetic Comet 250, Kinetic Italiano Jupiter and Kinetic Italiano Blaze, as well as a super bike, the Fireblade CBR 1000-RR.
