Forest personnel open fire in air to scare off smugglers

Mysore, Oct 20 (UNI) The anti-poaching squad of the forest department opened fire in the air to scare off a group of timber smugglers near Sollepera camp of Veeranahosahalli range in Nagarahole national forest area late last night.

According to forest department sources here, the squad sighted a group of smugglers cutting teak wood and opened fire in the air. The group left the teak logs and fled the spot.
