Five persons killed in road collision

Davanagere, Karnataka, Oct 20 (UNI) Five persons were killed and six others seriously injured in a head-on collision between a vehicle and a private bus near Anagodu, about 15 kilometres from here today.

Police said the accident occurred when the Goa-bound Qualis van collided with the bus which was proceeding to Davanagere from Tumkur.

All the injured were admitted to Chigatarie General Hospital and the condition of two persons was said to be critical.

The deceased had been identified as Vamshi(22), Ramesh(23), Kumar(23), Srikanth(24) and Abhishek(23). They were employed in a private firm in Bangalore.

The bus driver had been taken into police custody.
