Each 'diya' a prayer for communal amity:Sonia

New Delhi, Oct 20 (UNI) Congress president Sonia Gandhi has greeted the people on Diwali saying each 'diya' the revellers light would be a prayer for communal harmony.

The festival of lights is an occasion to renew and strengthen bonds of family, friendship and community, Ms Gandhi said in a message.

''May each diya we light be a prayer for communal harmony and fraternal relations between people of all the different religions and faiths that make up the glorious mosaic of our multicultural society,'' she said.
