Court grants more time to file chargesheet in 7/11 blasts case
Mumbai, Oct 20 (UNI) A Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA) court today granted 45 more days time to the Anti-Terrorist Squad (ATS) upon prosecution's request to file a chargesheet in the 7/11 serial blasts on Mumbai's transit system.
In the blasts, 188 people were killed and over 800 others injured, which occurred in the first class compartments of the Western Railway's suburban trains on July 11 evening.
MCOCA Judge M R Bhatkar also extended the judicial custody of seven accused - Dr Tanvir Ansari, Muzamil Shaikh, Faisal Shaikh, Kamal Asari, Zamir Shaikh, Ethesham Siddiqui and Sohail Ahmed Shaikh - till November 3. However, the ATS did not produce them before the court due to security reasons.
ATS, which is probing the blasts case, has arrested total 13 persons. The remaining six are still in the police custody till October 26. They have also been booked under MCOCA.
