Cloud seeding successful, says official

Kurnool, Oct 20: The Andhra Pradesh government was satisfied with the results of the cloud-seeding taken up to ensure that drought-stricken areas in the state received rains for agriculture and other needs, project Director Murali Krishna said today.

Talking to mediapersons here, project director Murali Krishna said that 78 per cent of the flares fired from aircraft yielded rains.

He said the programme for which the government had sanctioned Rs 15 crore had given encouraging results. All the personnel involved in the programme were happy that their efforts yielded good results.

He said the project, which was taken up during the monsoon season, would be continued.
