Child killed, another wounded in Kashmir blast
Srinagar, Oct 20 (UNI) A child was killed and another critically wounded when suspected militants triggered an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) at Darpora in Kupwara district of north Kashmir today, police said.
Militants had planted the IED at Khodawalla Nullah near Tantray Mohalla in Darpora area of the district to target security forces.
Police said as the militants triggered the IED, two children, Showkat Ahmed Tantray and Bilal Ahmed Tantray, passing through the area, were wounded in the explosion.
Both the children were immediately shifted to a hospital where one of them -- Bilal Ahmed Tantray -- succumbed to wounds.
Police said Showkat Ahmed Tantray has been admitted to the Bones and Joints Hospital at Barzulla here where his condition was stated to be critical.
