BJP Youth wing hangs Afzal in effigy

Dehradun, Oct 20 (UNI) Demanding the execution of Afzal Guru and refuting mercy plea for him, the Uttaranchal unit of Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha (BJYM) burnt the effigy of terrorism and hanged Guru in effigy at Clock Tower here today.

Scores of BJYM activists gathered at Clock Tower, sloganeering against the terrorism and Congress Party, burnt the effigy of terrorism and later hanged Afzal in effigy.

BJYM State President Pushkar Singh Dhami calling Afzal a hard core terrorist, said he warranted no mercy.

Critisising the Congress leaders for coming forward in Afzal's mercy plea, Dhami said they were doing so to appease the Muslims.

He maintained that Afzal has been sentenced to death by the Supreme Court for committing terrorist attack at the Parliament and hence, should not be considered for any mercy. Else morals of the security forces fighting against terrorism would go down, he asserted.
