Admiral Arun Prakash to be given farewell in Goa before retirement
Panaji, Oct 20 (UNI) Chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Arun Prakash is slated to arrive in Goa on October 22 on a farewell visit.
The admiral, who took over the pivotal position in 2004, retires this month-end. He will be accompanied by his wife Kumkum Prakash, during his 2-day visit.
Apart from interacting with the naval fraternity, the couple will oversee the aircraft operations from the base.
His association with Goa had been quite endearing when he was posted at the Dabolim airport here, during the early days of his career.
He was the commanding officer of INS Hansa in 1986-87, and had got the distinction of flying and inducting the Sea Harrier VSTOL fighter jets from UK to Goa in 1983, official sources said.
