UPA govt implementing anti labour policies- Dasgupta
Jalandhar, Oct 19 (UNI) Communist Party of India(CPI) leader and All India Trade Union Congress(AITUC) General Secretary Guru Das Dasgupta today said the Congress led UPA Government at the Centre was implementing ''anti labourers policies'' and violating the Common Minimum Programme(CMP).
Speaking at a convention of PSEB Employees Federation here. Mr Dasgupta said the government had failed to keep its commitment made in the CMP for framing laws for labourers in the unorganised sector.
He said the reforms being implemented by the government were detrimental to the interests of the labourers and they were facing threat to their employment.
Mr Dasgupta said that in protest against ''anti labourers'' and ''anti poor'' policies of the government, AITUC and supporting trade unions would hold a demonstration outside the Parliament on November 23.
A large number of labourers from different parts of the country would reach Delhi to participate in the demonstration.
