Shimla restricts sale of crackers to ensure safe Diwali

Shimla, Oct 19 (UNI) Elaborate arrangements have been made by the Shimla district administration to check fires or any other accidents during Diwali by restricting the sale of crackers to some selected places, official sources today said.

Orders have also been issued to stop fireworks after 2200 hrs and fire tenders have been kept in state of readiness in all the congested areas.

The sources said the district administration had allowed the sale of crackers at identified places only as a precautionary measure.

Shimla town had witnessed four major fire due to busting of crackers during the last 10 years.
