Shatrughan Sinha praises Rahul Gandhi

Patna, Oct 19 (UNI) BJP Rajya Sabha MP Shatrughan Sinha today described Congress MP Rahul Gandhi as ''sharp and intelligent'' and said he would certainly achieve his 'goal' if he was provided right kind of guidance.

Talking to reporters here, Mr Sinha said that there was "nothing political" in his assessment about Mr Gandhi but he would have to work hard to excel in his still novice political career." I always appreciate the good qualities of any one irrespective of his political affiliations,''he added.

He recalled that he had also appreciated CPM leaders Jyoti Basu and Sitaram Yechuri in the past and no one should draw extraneous meaning about his remarks on Mr Gandhi.

When asked about the specualations in political circle on his joining the Congress party in near future, he dismissed it as 'rubbish' and affirmed that he would continue to remain in BJP as loyal soldier.

Mr Sinha also paid handsome tribute to Railway Minister Lalu Prasad for his splendid performance in turning around the Railways into a profit making undertaking which had fetched a revenue of more than Rs 14000 crores. ''If a top management institute like IIM Ahmedabad is recognising the contribution of Mr Prasad, there is nothing wrong if I appreciate his performance as Railway Minister,'' he maintained.

Earlier, Mr Sinha and former cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu presented the trophy to winner of the Sukhdeo Narain Memorial inter school cricket tournament organised by B P Sinha foundation for youth welfare.
