Setback for BJP in Harda municipality poll

Harda, MP, Oct 19 (UNI) Ahead of bypolls in Vidisha Lok Sabha seat and Malehra Vidhan Sabha seat, the ruling BJP received setback in the election to the Harda municipality, as the Congress emerged victorious in 21 seats in the 30-member municipality and also won the Chairman's post.

Congress candidate defeated Hemant Tale defeated BJP's Devi Singh Sankhla by 4,945 votes for the Chairman's post followed by Bharatiya Jan Shakti candidate Shivnarayan Tak in the third position.

The BJP emerged victorious in eight seats, while a lone independent had won.
