Search for rocket launchers intensified in Nallamala forest

Hyderabad, Oct 19 (UNI) A special police team launched combing operations in Nallamala forest to unearth rocket launchers following the surrender of Tech Madhu alias Srinivas Reddy, the mastermind behind the production of the arms.

He had surrendered, along with his wife Sudharani, before Warangal police on October 17. The couple is now assistin the police in the search.

According to sources here, Warangal police had handed over the couple to Prakasham district special police to find out the rocket launchers supplied to the Maoists from Darshi village, last year.

Search is also on for Alfred, a maoist sympathiser, who assisted in transporting the launchers from Darshi to Nallamala forest.

The couple had spent more than three years in the forest and established contacts with maoist state leaders.

Souces said the two maoists had revealed, in interrogation, that most of the launchers were kept in hideouts in the forest.
