Recruitment of drivers in DTC to be expedited

New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit has expressed concern over vacant posts of drivers in state-owned Delhi Transport Corporation.

In a meeting attended by Delhi Transport Minsiter Haroon Yusuf, DTC Chairman and Managing Director Anshu Prakash and office bearers of the employees' union, she directed constitution of a committee under the chairmanship of Mr Yusuf to expedite recruitment against 3,000 vacant posts.

The chief minister further directed DTC to implement the concept of 'Bhagidari' in its functioning at depot level.

It was decided that retired senior government officers, representatives of DTC employees union and officers of DTC would have regular interaction to streamline the corporation functioning.

In the meeting it was also decided that the state government would give Diwali bonus to 28,000 DTC employees. All employees other than group 'A' officers would be eligible for 8.33 per cent bonus subject to maximum of Rs 2500.
