Rana and Gurjent arrested, claims HP Police

Una, Oct 19 (UNI) The Himachal Pradesh Police said they have arrested dreaded criminals, Amrish Rana and Gurjent Singh, who had escaped from their custody after the were convicted in a triple murder case.

Addressing a press conference here, Una district SP Atul Fulzele said the two were arrested from a room in Quila area of Bathinda town along with Satwant Singh, a Punjab Police constable.

While Rana had escaped from the Una district court premises on September six after he was brought here from Dharamshala jail to face trial in another murder case, Gurjent had been absconding from some time.

Both Rana and Gurjent were convicted of murdering three people on the Una-Pirnigaha road on September nine, 1999.
