Ram Babu welcomes DHC's decision on nursery admissions

New Delhi, Oct 19 (UNI) Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee President Ram Babu Sharma has welcomed Delhi High Court's decision to accept the recommendations of the Ashok Ganguly Committee on admission of children to nursery classes.

It would spare the children from being subjected to needless tests and interviews, as also provide great relief to parents from unnecessary tension, a statement said.

The Ganguly Committee had proposed doing away with tests and interviews of children and their parents so that every child got a fair chance to seek admission to schools of their choice, especially those in the neighbourhood.

Mr Sharma also welcomed the court's ruling holding Santosh Kumar Singh guilty in the Priyadarshini Mattoo rape and murder case.

The ruling established that justice may be delayed, but not denied, which fortified the people's trust in the judiciary, he said.
