Orchid Chemicals Q2 net up 8.23 per cent
New Delhi, Oct 19: Orchid Chemicals&Pharmaceuticals Ltd today posted a 8.23 per cent hike in its net profit at Rs 29.45 crore for the second quarter ended September 30, 2006, as against Rs 27.21 crore for the corresponding period last year.
The Chennai-based global pharma major's total income increased to Rs 245.95 crore during the quarter, up by 2.3 per cent, from Rs 240.43 crore for September 30, 2005, a company statement said.
Earlier, it received approval from United States Food and Drug Authority (USFDA) for its Cefadroxil 500 mg capsules and 1 gm tablets Abbreviated New Drug Applications (ANDAs).
The company would be launching this oral cephalosporin product in the US through its distribution partner, Par Pharma.
